NCSC Warns of Global Attacks on Fortinet Firewalls and VPN Gateways
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has issued an urgent warning urging organizations using Fortinet services to take immediate action. This warning follows a global campaign targeting Fortinet's firewalls and VPN gateways. Organizations are advised to review their security measures and apply updates as necessary to protect their systems.
Cyber Threats from Hostile States
In another announcement, Dr. Richard Horne, CEO of NCSC, highlighted that three-quarters of cyber attacks affecting critical systems in the UK are linked to hostile states. This underscores the urgency of strengthening cyber defenses and revising security strategies.
Passkeys as the Future Authentication Method
The NCSC also recommends leaving passwords in the past and transitioning to passkeys, which represent a more secure and user-friendly login method. Passkeys should become the default authentication option for consumers to enhance security and improve user experience.
